Mission 44 - Description
Kentucky National Guard

Salman Pak, Iraq - March 20, 2005: It's midday along an Alternate Supply Route near Salman Pak, Iraq, a region known for heavy insurgent activity. COSCOM soldiers are tasked with escorting the convoy; your MP unit is shadowing the entire operation that includes 30 tractor-trailers and three armored HMMWVs.

When the convoy is attacked and the escort is trapped in a kill zone, the soldiers and truckers depend on you to save them. The attackers have already killed and wounded members of the convoy, now the insurgents seek to kidnap the living. You have to move quickly before the rebels reach their targets and kill their way to seven well-placed getaway vehicles. There are 50 rebels firing RPGs and AK-47s, spread across the route and hiding along a long, covert trench. It takes tremendous firepower to silence the front of the kill zone, profound bravery to enter the trench line on foot, and exceptional marksmanship to take out the adjacent snipers.

More than 30 of your allies' lives are at stake and if you fail to kill the insurgents, innocent men will be kidnapped. They will be executed. You are hopelessly outmanned and outgunned. Snipers fire from a lone house; RPGs hammer your vehicles; machine gun fire surrounds you. With your every move targeted, you have to think fast and move faster, instantly familiarizing yourself with weapons and protocol. You're not supposed to be here: You are not a combat soldier. But when reality becomes a nightmare, do you have what it takes to be something you're not?
