Desert Rat Tank Battle

Pre-dawn:
14 Iraqi Russian-built T55s move south out of Basra towards the al Faw peninsula. Meanwhile, a comparable sized platoon of Challenger 2 tanks belonging to Royal Scots Dragoon C squadron guards is heading north toward the city. The two troops meet.
The Challenger 2 tanks immediately split. One group of seven Challengers aggressively moves forward to head off a group of enemy T-55s. Some insurgents, realizing they are overwhelmed by the ground assault, begin to dismount and attempt to flee the scene. They are captured.
The second group of Challenger 2s attempts to lock the enemy in a kill box. They wait for the next squadron of T-55 to emerge from a wooded area. When the enemy progress to about 1,500 meters of the soldiers, Challenger 2s move quickly from the flank and begin firing at the Iraqis, initiating a fierce battle between the tanks.
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards destroy 14 Russian-built T-55s and three enemy armored personnel carriers. The desert Rats go on to seize the city of Basra.
