Mission 1 - Force Background & Histories
Uday and Qusay's Last Stand, Part 1

101st Airborne Division
Out of Ft. Campbell Kentucky, the Screaming Eagles are known for their ferocious air assault operations. With the capability to insert a 4,000 soldier combined task force 150 kilometers into enemy territory in one lift, and possessing 281 helicopters, the 101st is the world's premiere air assault division with unequaled strategic and tactical mobility. Formed of three brigades plus several separate commands, the 101st normally conducts operations hundreds of kilometers beyond established lines, requiring intense national-level intelligence. The division requires men that can survive being dropped from an airplane behind enemy lines, fight and win. In January 1991, the 101st entered Iraq in the deepest combat air assault into enemy territory in the history of the world, capturing thousands of enemy prisoners of war. Back to top

Delta Force
The super-secret counter-terrorism arm of the U.S. Army's 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment is expert in preventing and reacting to terrorism, and in taking down high-profile targets. Delta Force is trained to infiltrate or storm hideouts to rescue hostages. Created after a rise in global terrorism in the 1970s, their reputation as shooting experts in close-quarter gunfights and long-range sniping often precedes their presence. Delta Force is based at Fort Bragg in North Carolina and comprised of volunteers mainly from the 82nd Airborne Division, Green Berets and Rangers. Back to top

Task Force 20
The shadowy Task Force 20's trademark is lightning-fast assaults, and members have at their disposal anything the military can muster. Its 750-1,500 troops are drawn from a combination of Special Operations units, including the Army's Delta Force and Rangers and Navy SEALs, and may work alongside CIA paramilitary operatives. Task Force 20 has its own logistical, communications and intelligence capabilities to effectively track high-value targets. Also responsible for securing Iraq's expansive western desert and involved in the search for weapons of mass destruction, Task Force 20 was formed before the start of the Iraq war. Mobilizing in minutes on informants' tips and other intelligence, Task Force 20 can quickly seal off a target area, enter the location to search for enemies and gather intelligence from the site. Iraqi Police
Lightly armored and ill-equipped, Iraqi police were easy pickings for the guerrillas operating in the so-called Sunni Triangle. Under Saddam Hussein's regime, police were required to be members of the ruling Baath Party. Now only junior level policemen are retained to form the basis of the new police force, and new recruits welcome the promise of US training, screening and a two-year investment of $800 million.
