Mission 2 - Your Mission
Operation Anaconda

It's March 2, 2002. A Chinook helo drops you into the rugged mountain country of eastern Afghanistan on a mission to engage enemy forces hiding in the ridges and ancient mountain caves near Gardez. You've been briefed that fighting will be light today - your job is supposed to be nothing more than a holding action. But the intelligence was wrong, very wrong, and as soon as you hit the ground, you can hear the deadly, hollow whine of mortar shells heading toward your position as you fight for your life in the cold, sterile air thousands of feet above sea level.

Attacking mortar teams, running sniper missions, and even scouring the ridges for a chance encounter with the "high value targets" of al Qaeda, you will experience an uncomfortably real recreation of the most intense battle of Enduring Freedom, and test your wits against Shah-i-Kot, the graveyard of empires.

In Shah-i-Kot, you fight enemy forces in a battle ripped straight from the news briefings. Your mission is to repel the al Qaeda ambush, make your way to the town of Marzak for a deadly nose to nose encounter with the enemy. With shells landing all around and American airstrikes pounding in the distance, you will fight the same fight as the heroes of the 10th Mountain Division, who struggled to free themselves from a deadly al Qaeda trap in a rugged countryside that had claimed hundreds of Soviet troops before them.

Can you hold your own against Taliban militia, and defeat wily Qaeda snipers? Can you last through nightfall, when the cold Afghan wind begins to bite, and supplies run low, as fighters close in around you? Leading a four-man team through a firefight, can you show the enemy that Americans will hold their own in the coming ground war with Osama bin Laden?
