During a drive up Highway 1, just outside the city of Ad Diwaniyah, your combined anti-armor platoon comes under attack. Mortar shells pop around you, RPG shells explode, and deadly automatic weapons fire rakes your HMMWV. What's worse, the tanks up ahead are blocking your way. If you don't act quickly, you will be caught in a kill zone.

To survive, you have to drive straight into the enemy, taking their machinegun nest down in a bold and decisive attack. Then you'll have to engage them in a brutal close-quarters gun battle. They easily outnumber you by a factor of five. You will need to move more quickly, shoot with greater accuracy, and not flinch as the bullets whistle past unnervingly close.

This battle is a recreation of a real encounter that earned Capt. Brian R. Chontosh a Navy Cross, Cpl. Armand McCormick a Silver Star, and Cpl. Thomas Franklin a Navy Commendation Medal with "V" for Valor. When the assault is over, the brave Marines have killed 20 enemy assailants and wounded scores more.
