IED danger
Watch out for Improvised Explosive Devices. Typical locations on roadways are parked or abandoned vehicles.

Drive and Shoot
It takes getting use to but you want to master the video-game skill of driving while shooting your mounted machine gun. A moving target will be harder for the enemy to hit.

Take your time
While keeping on the move is a good idea, blind running and gunning won't work. Find the heavily infested ambush areas and take out the enemy carefully one at a time. You don't want to damage your vehicle.

Protect yourself
While the HMMV is thin-skinned, you are thinner-skinned. The vehicle will allow bullets to pass through and hit you. In fact, you will be taken out before it is -- so you must take evasive action if you come under enemy fire even when in the vehicle.
