Mission 35 - Design & Production Notes
Fallujah: Operation al-Fajr (Dawn), Part 3

We modeled another map of Fallujah's Operation al-Fajr at the request of the Marines. They sent us data based on after-action reports describing events in a specific area, and this is what you will play through in Mission 35. We received satellite images with a detailed analysis of the action. We based the layout of the map, and the placement of enemies and events, on these pictures. We went over the map several times with the Marines to verify the accuracy of the implementation.

This map features a mounted weapon on a moving vehicle, a feature we have been working on for some time. In fact, the first instance of this was the gun-boat in Mission 24 but this is the first time this appears on a land-based vehicle.

In this mission we recreate an eventful drive through the city. As the Marines finished clearing their respective sectors as we illustrated in Mission 32, they were to drive to a rendezvous point. The place is called Joaln Park and was perhaps a mile driving towards the center of town depending on your starting location. The problem was that the street had not been cleared along its entire length when the first units to finish their sectors made the drive. You will see what they had to endure.
