Mission 22 -Description

Dai Chopan, Afghanistan. June 8, 2004: The 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit on patrol in Afghanistan is ambushed by waves of Taliban fighters and must turn the enemy’s offensive onslaught into a devastating defeat.

Deep in Afghanistan’s Taliban territory, Dai Chopan plays host to some of the most horrific battles since the start of the War on Terror. Here, the Taliban’s last-ditch effort to thwart the October democratic elections is a ruthless campaign of precision ambushes and mass murder. US soldiers, Afghanis, UN workers, and humanitarians are dying at the hands of fanatical insurgents, hell-bent on holding Afghanistan captive from democracy.

Even with air support and America’s premier fighting forces on the ground, it is an ongoing, overwhelming mission to rout out the terrorists. Hundreds of Taliban lurk throughout the Dai Chopan region with still hundreds more joining the fight from the Pakistan border and surrounding villages. It is decided the Marines will take an offensive stance, infiltrating an enemy ambush site with a preemptive strike. Only trouble is they have to make it past 100 Taliban guerrillas first.

As a member of the Marine Expeditionary Unit, it’s up to you to battle your way through the blitz of insurgents. Do you have what it takes to switch from offense to defense in a few critical seconds?
